Welcome to my corner of the interwebs, if you don’t actually know me personally, congratulations on successfully meandering aimlessly. My name is Jessica, I am originally from Encinitas, CA, which apparently oozes out of me, as most people call me on how Californian I am. Dude. Bro. Chill. I’m married to a rather awesome Marine from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. Together, we have a four year old named Jackson which my life revolves around. We recently moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina, from Okinawa, Japan, and previous to that Camp Pendleton, CA.
I was raised by flower growers, grew up riding horses and playing any sport I could stick to, and have a really weird sense of humor. I’m a pretty huge nerd, always have been, so that will come out pretty blatantly on occasion. I have a passion for travel, but not the bank account to match. I have wild, imaginative plans to drag my mini family all over God’s creation, but that of course will wait for now. I started Adventure Moms in Okinawa, for military wives & locals to join and get outside with children, I will be doing the same here in North Carolina. I also belong to Stroller Warriors, a military wife running crew, though I’m not actually the best at running. If I could pick a sport to play at the moment it would probably just be eating a lot. I’d rather be hiking in all honesty, but that’s a bit difficult in my area of the South apparently. I’m still adjusting.
I do enjoy a good book, and I will take months to get through a bad one. I’ve heard I’m a pretty awesome friend, but it’s insanely hard to get to that level with me since I’m sort of awkward and don’t put up with bullshite. Oh and I curse a little bit. Jesus still loves me though, I’m sure you can move past it. If my husband had his way, we’d live on a Mountain side and live like old school lumberjacks, but luckily for him he married a girl who needs a city close by. Eventually I will start college & move onto nursing of some sort. For now though, it’s adventures with my kiddo.
My blog is basically just a journal with a cooler name. I share my adventures, hopefully some not terrible pictures, and every blue moon a recipe or craft. Blue moon….. craft…. mmm….bbeeeerrr. Did I mention I like beer? I do. Anyway…I hope you stick around to read my blabbering, comment if you’d like, I love those.
